EVALUATOR AND PROCESS IMPROVER
As a researcher and evaluator, Terrie works with organizations to gather feedback from key stakeholders using interviews, questionnaires, focus groups, document reviews, observations, journals, case studies and portfolios of work samples to review processes and recommend change. She develops evaluation protocol, designs instruments, creates databases, analyzes data and generates recommendations for change. She is expert in the application of outcomes-based planning and evaluation.
For Lincoln Park Zoo, Terrie designed evaluation protocol to track high school students in a Zoo Intern Program over five years. For The Field Museum, she designed a comprehensive evaluation protocol and instruments to assess changes in teacher and student knowledge, behaviors and attitudes about conservation and the environment over three years. For The Chicago Zoological Society-Brookfield Zoo, she conducted interviews with teachers, librarians, adults and children to discover ways in which families and children used materials from the Zoo Adventure Passport program at home or at school. At Abbott Laboratories, she evaluated the effectiveness of a corporate mentoring program. At Enable America, she developed evaluation protocol using outcomes-based evaluation to track the recovery of hundreds of Special Operations Forces and their families.
Terrie developed expertise in survey research, most notably minimizing errors, at Northwestern University while working with Paul Lavrakas, Ph.D., editor of the Encyclopedia of Survey Research. She is a frequent speaker at conferences and workshops on the topics of metrics, outcomes and the evaluation process.
